Never Late

My friend Amanda over at Mayhem and Magic had a lovely post today. After recalling the excitement of receiving her first referral, she shared this verse that brought her comfort as she waited:

"But these things I plan won't happen right away.
Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place.
It will not be late by a single day."

Habakkuk 2:3 NLT

Oh, how I wish I had seen that this time last year. Will and I often discussed the fact that any delays in our process were probably supposed to happen because our "perfect" baby would come home on the exact day God intended her to. What a comfort to see this very thing spoken by Him long before I even needed to hear it. To all of those families that are still waiting, hold these words close to your heart. Your "perfect" child will come home on the right day too.

Thanks for sharing Amanda!

This was great - I'll have to go over the Mayhem and Magic as well. With both of our girls, God's timing was so obvious. For our first, we had been struggling with infertility for 5 years then got this amazing desire from God to adopt, signed up and a month later had our first daughter!!! With Amelia (our second) it wasn't as "easy", we went through a discouraging adoption fraud/scam but then a month and a half later had our second beautiful daughter. Whenever we get discouraged about the money we lost or even start to think "Why did we ....." we stop and realize that somehow God had to use even the trial to bring us exactly the child He had picked out for us!! It was His timing and His plan and definitely all for our benefit because I just adore my girls and can't imagine our life without them!

You have to love someone who quotes the book of Habukkuk! Right on, digging deep. His ways are not our ways, and His timing is not ours either. Peace for all of the waiters out there, myself included. - Rich
