IT was an interesting to say the least. I managed to be in the right place at the the right time to get the job. I, for many years afterwards, thought it was the best deal for me... The best job in the Army. It all came home for me in 1986 at the Vietnam Vets Welcome Home Parade in Chicago where I told by, literally, hundreds of other Vets that "the radio was the only thing that kept me sane over there... Thanks." I realized then that what I had done was bring a little bit of home to the war for all of my listeners. And that was what I did. There was absolutely NOTHING about our programming at KLIK that was military in any way. That was what set us apart from AFVN.
